April (Docent Since January 2022)
"Through my experience of being a docent, I have learned so much. While volunteering in our Welcome Center, I have learned about water conservation and the importance of involving the community in conservation actions. The more I experienced this, the more I brought home and shared with my children and grandchildren about the importance of conserving water in the desert. It has become a personal mission of mine to continue to involve my family in these issues and work with WMG to help ensure a sustainable future for them.
Laurel (Docent Since January 2022)
"My favorite part of volunteering with Family Programming at WMG is seeing the kids’ faces light up with excitement and interest when they learn something new at our program. I truly feel at home as a Docent at WMG, I feel like I am making a difference in the lives of people in my community. I have also learned much myself - expanding my knowledge of living hydro-locally and putting many of the teachings into practice."
Samantha (Docent Since Janaury 2022)
"I enjoy asking people questions and plugging them into our mission for a more hydro local Tucson. WMG has helped me to better understand Tucson and how our city functions, how our waterways connect through the creeks that flow through our town and I have learned so much about native plants and Tucson history from this organization."
Dan (Docent Since January 2016)
"Through WMG, I have learned about the many ways to be hydro local at my own home and have implemented many practices we show on our Living Lab & Learning Center Tours. As a tour lead, I am able to tell people about my own experiences and help to inspire them to conserve water and be more sustainable in their own homes. I have learned so much about the issues we face here in the desert, especially with water, and I look forward to continuing to spread knowledge about how we can conserve and use rainwater for many different needs."
