Arroyo and Erosion Control Technical Training

Through WMG's Arroyo and Erosion Control Technical Training, participants will gain an advanced understanding of how to assess landscape forms and how to restore degraded landscapes, design of small-scale restoration features, and hands-on implementation of those features. Emphasis will also be placed on arroyo (in both an urban and rural context) restoration approaches and upland erosion control practices.

Course registrants will be reimbursed (minus a $30 admin / processing fee) on cancelation up to 30 days before the course start date. No reimbursement will be paid within 30 days of the start date of the course. All payments MUST be paid prior to the start of the course.

Tentative Course Schedule:

Friday, March 4th, 2pm - 5pm (Classroom session)

  • Introduction to gully and upland restoration issues and opportunities
  • Project development and channel permitting

Saturday, March 5th, 8am - 5pm (Field session)

  • Assessing the landscape
  • Design and planning arroyo and upland restoration practices
  • Hands-on arroyo and upland restoration practices installation
