River Run Network Creek Walk: Meander with the Tanque Verde Creek

Registration is closed for this event

Join WMG’s Executive Director Lisa Shipek and River Restoration Biologist Trevor Hare as we explore one of the perennial stretches of Tanque Verde Creek. This creek drains over 84 square miles of the Santa Catalina and Rincon Mountains, supports dense riparian forests with cottonwood, willow, ash and walnut trees, and is a great example of what a desert creek should look like with floodplain access and multi-braided channels. We will walk from Wentworth Road west approximately half a mile checking out the creek and its adjacent floodplain. We will also visit an arroyo and mesquite bosque restoration site on private property directly adjacent to the creek.
