The Babocomari River is a tributary of the San Pedro River, supporting Cottonwood gallery forests and beaver habitat. Watershed Management Group has been working on a beaver habitat restoration project in this area since 2023 and we look forward to continuing the work with your help!
We are hosting a miriad of different workshops this season to support this effort, including a cottonwood and willow harvesting workshop in the Tanque Verde Creek, see below for the opportunities to help restore this area.
We are kicking off this effort with a pole harvesting workshop in the Tanque Verde Creek on Friday, January 31st. These cuttings of cottonwood and willow will be planted in the Babocomari work site and support the propagation of the native plants in the area, helping to stabilize the river banks and support slower flows.
Friday, January 31st @ 9am - 12pm
