Help Beautify our Rivers in September

River Run Network Clean Up & Arundo Removal: Pantano Creek and Ft Lowell Park
Tuesday, September 9th @ 5:30pm - 7pm

Help beautify our rivers by picking up trash + removing invasive species

We’re focusing on areas along our creeks where trash has collected and small patches of invasive Arundo have been spotted—and we need your help to clean it up and protect our waterways. This event will center around trash pickup and beautification efforts, making this vital community space cleaner, safer, and more enjoyable for people, wildlife, and future creek restoration projects. We'll also target a few small stands of Arundo to stop its spread.

The cleanup site is easily accessible from The Loop—perfect for arriving by bike or even on foot if you’re nearby!

We’ll provide all the tools and supplies you need, but feel free to bring your own gloves, water bottle, and loppers if you have them. Every bag of trash removed makes a difference — let’s work together to keep our rivers beautiful!

River Run Network Clean Up: Arroyo Chico
Saturday, September 20th @ 8am - 10am

Our creeks and arroyos are the lifeline to our rivers; they flow through our city and into the Santa Cruz River. Many of these waterways are filled with trash, which is carried into our rivers downstream through large rain and flood events. Through this event, we invite you to sift through a local waterway (Arroyo Chico) in search of trash. As you pick up the trash, you not only help you and your neighbors, but the whole of Tucson to be a cleaner place!
