Family Saturday: Building Rain Gardens

Dig in, get your hands dirty, and grow something amazing! 

Join us for a fun-filled Family Saturday where kids and grown-ups alike can discover the magic of rain gardens. Learn how to catch rainwater and use it to help native desert plants thrive. Plus, take home a special planting kit to start your very own rain garden!

Activities begin at 9 AM, and at 10 AM, join our hands-on workshop where you'll learn all about native trees, shrubs, and seasonal plants—and how they survive in the desert with a little help from rainwater harvesting. Complete the workshop and take home a Native Plant Kit with a tree, shrub, seed packet, and mulch to bring the learning to life at home. (One kit per household—be sure to let us know when you register if you’d like one!)

And that’s not all! Family Saturday is packed with interactive activities for all ages, so come ready to explore, play, and connect with nature.

Únete a nosotros en un divertido Sábado Familiar, donde niños y adultos podrán descubrir la magia de los jardines de lluvia. Aprende a capturar el agua de lluvia y a usarla para ayudar a que las plantas nativas del desierto prosperen. Además, llévate a casa un kit especial de siembra para comenzar tu propio jardín de lluvia.

Las actividades comienzan a las 9 AM, y a las 10 AM, participa en nuestro taller práctico donde aprenderás sobre árboles, arbustos y plantas de temporada nativas, y cómo sobreviven en el desierto con la ayuda de la captación de agua de lluvia. Al completar el taller, podrás llevarte un Kit de Plantas Nativas con un árbol, un arbusto, un paquete de semillas y mantillo para dar vida a lo aprendido en casa. (Un kit por hogar—asegúrate de indicarlo al registrarte si deseas uno).

¡Y eso no es todo! Sábado Familiar estará lleno de actividades interactivas para todas las edades, así que ven listo para explorar, jugar y conectar con la naturaleza.
