Thanks to our dedicated supporters, WMG met our challenge match of $8,250, provided by board members and major donors—and more! In all, WMG raised $20,270 for Giving Tuesday.
These funds support many great programs at WMG, including:
- Green Living Co-op – a tight-knit community that allows volunteers to get hands-on experience learning how to build rainwater-harvesting systems as they earn credit towards their own volunteer-staffed workshop
- Public Demonstration Sites – high-profile public installations of water-harvesting systems designed to educate people, promote awareness, build neighborhood engagement, and increase community livability and walkability
- Schoolyard Program – working with local schools to provide in-class instruction complemented by hands-on projects to teach about water conservation, water harvesting, and desert plants
- River Restoration – leading the way in policy work and watershed restoration to restore our groundwater levels and flow to our creeks in the most critical riparian areas
Giving Tuesday provided a great kickstart to our year-end fundraising campaign, but we still have about $9,000 to raise to end the year strong. You can make a tax-deductible year-end gift on our secure website. And if you join our monthly donor program, Flow, the annual value of your gift will be counted toward our goal. Thanks for all you do to make our work possible!
