This virtual Beavers & Brews event is a great way to enjoy happy hour and get you caught up on the latest about beavers in Arizona. Lisa Shipek, WMG’s Executive Director, is joined by Mike Foster and Steve Merkley, Friends of the San Pedro volunteers, to give an update on beavers in the San Pedro River. We’ll be sharing the details of our beaver survey along the San Pedro River in December—what evidence we saw of beaver activity and our estimate on the size of the beaver population there. Finally, we’ll share the latest with the potential beaver reintroduction to Las Ciénegas National Conservation area, a process still working through the cogs at the Bureau of Land Management. We will have plenty of time for Q&A during this virtual event.
