Tucson's river heritage is rich. WMG has been gathering historical images of Tucson's rivers, and we're excited to share them with you through this virtual storytelling event! Experience our past, present, and learn about what it could be like in the future. We will share some historic and present-day images of the Santa Cruz, Tanque Verde, and Rillito Rivers, all collected thanks to the US Geological Survey. Then, we will share WMG's 50-year vision and strategic plan to restore our rivers and practical ways you can help us get there. Joaquin Murrieta, WMG’s Cultural Ecologist and Catlow Shipek, WMG’s Policy and Technical Director, will weave the story for us.
You will receive a zoom link and instructions when you register for the event.
This event is organized through the River Run Network. If you are not yet a member, we will add you to the Network when you register for this event. RRN membership is free and gives you access to exclusive creek walks, river restoration workshops, river clean-ups, and advocacy opportunities.
