Stewarding In Place: A Community Gallery

What you do in your yard and neighborhood impacts your local creek, river, lake, or ocean. Use that power for good to enhance our watersheds.

This was the basis for WMG’s Steward In Place initiative, which we began back in April in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. We moved many of our classes and workshops to the digital sphere, a dramatic shift for an organization that specializes in in-person, experiential learning. It was a huge success!

We’re thrilled we are able to adapt many of our programs to a virtual format and continue to meet the needs of the communities we serve with opportunities to learn, make changes at home, and care for our watershed through online classes and dispersed events. We’ve hosted over 45 virtual events with 1,500 participants. These community members are getting out along their neighborhood streets and creeks to pick up trash and pull invasive plants, as well as building their own backyard basins and rain gardens.

Don’t just take our word for it – check it out yourself in our new Stewarding In Place gallery!
