Go on a virtual tour of Tucson’s watershed, starting at the top of the Catalina and Rincon mountains and moving down the canyons into the valley bottom. Lisa Shipek, WMG’s Executive Director, will guide you through some fantastic swimming holes, wading creeks, and hidden gems found in wild places and your backyard. She will be joined by her husband Catlow Shipek, WMG’s Policy and Technical Director, who will share insights from his ultra trail-running exploration. Learn about urban trails that explore midtown creeks and arroyos to where you can find water to refill your bottles or cool off even in the heat of June. As water loving people, the Shipek’s have a knack for finding the fastest path to water.

We hope with this information you will get to explore new areas and have a greater appreciation for our watershed when you’re getting out to hike or run. Consider ways you can give back – by helping out with clean-up efforts, restoration workshops, trail maintenance, or conserving and recharging water at home so we have more flowing water in the desert.

If you tell a friend to join this event and have them use your name while registering, you will be entered to win a River Run Network gift basket! Make sure they write your full name in the "how did you hear about this offer" section while registering.
