River Run Network Creek Walks in July!

First, join us on a creek walk through the flows of the Santa Cruz River on Saturday, July 16th @ 8am. Our Flow365 Monitors volunteer year-round to collect data on different creeks and rivers in Tucson, and they have found another beautiful flowing area on the northwest side of our city. Come explore this stretch of the Santa Cruz with Lauren Monheim, WMG’s River Run Network Program Manager, and Nancy Grosvenor, the resident Flow365 Monitor in this area, to learn about the Flow365 Monitoring Program and history of the flow in the area next to a beautiful flowing creek.

Then, on Wednesday, July 27th @ 6:30pm, experience our incredible flying friends - the bats - along the Rillito River. You'll learn all about the bats that live in our city, using bridges and rivers as habitats and playing a critical role by pollinating native plants. We’ll start with an informative talk by Debbie C. Buecher, M.S., an expert with 35 years of experience working with bats. Then we’ll walk under the Campbell Ave Bridge over the Rillito River to get a glimpse of bats waking up for the night and taking flight!
