Eligibility chart for grants and loans

Financial eligibility based on total annual household income (2020)

As of October 1st 2020, for families with an income equal to or less than 100% of the Federal Poverty Level (PL) we offer a grant of up to $750 and for families between 100% and 200% PL we offer a grant of up to $500. The loans are to help pay the cost of the system and are available to qualifying families. Loans of up to $ 2,000 payable in 18 months and if the amount is less than $ 500 the family has 12 months to pay it. If you obtain a loan, you must make a deposit (the higher amount will be applied) of $ 20.00 or 10% of its value.

All applicants must

  • Have a Tucson Water account in good standing
  • Attend a rainwater harvesting workshop
  • Live in an owner-occupied single-family dwelling
  • Have property taxes paid
  • Families that rent can participate if they have a signed letter of agreement from their landlord
