Focus: The Red Barn at the Phoenix Zoo was fitted with new gutters to convey rainwater into two large rain tanks before it overflows into a series of berms and basins. The rainwater can now be used between storms to irrigate the native and desert adapted plants in the rain garden reducing the amount of water the Zoo purchases from the city by about 5,000 gallons a year.
