Watershed Management Group Hosting Open House Wednesday, Sept 18 @ 5:30-7 p.m.
Watershed Management Group (WMG), a Tucson based environmental nonprofit, is currently seeking volunteers with a passion to serve the community and an interest in being a part of a dynamic, solutions-focused group, to join our board of directors, board committees, or other volunteer opportunities. We invite the public to attend our open house on Wednesday, September 18 to learn more.
WMG’s focus is on restoring desert rivers through water conservation, rainwater harvesting, on-the-ground projects, hands-on educational programs, governmental policy work, and collaborations with other organizations and the Tucson populace. As an organization, we develop community-based solutions to ensure the long-term prosperity of people and health of the environment through our various programs and initiatives. WMG provides people with the knowledge, skills, and resources to live sustainably in the Sonoran Desert through our robust educational offering including: classes, workshops, trainings, and events.
Our hands-on educational programs include our popular, Green Living Co-op – where we teach community members how to rainwater harvest through residential projects; and our Living Lab & Learning Center demonstration site where we provide tours and classes on sustainable practices.
The board and committees help develop WMG’s strategic goals, ensure adequate staff and financial resources, and help monitor the overall health of the organization. WMG is committed to building a diverse and inclusive board and committees that fosters proactive dialogue, collaborative learning, and shared leadership. The open house is from 5:30 p.m.-7 p.m. Interested individuals can register and get more details at Watershedmg.org/OpenHouse.
