Thanks to a public workshop, Sierra Vista’s city complex now shows off not only active rainwater harvesting but also passive techniques that put stormwater to work, while also cleaning it before it reaches the San Pedro River.
On Friday, a group of residents, officials, and city staff members worked under the stewardship of the Watershed Management Group to implement passive rainwater harvesting and green infrastructure techniques in the area between City Hall and the Sierra Vista Police Department. While some participants said they looked forward to applying these strategies at their own homes, the City of Sierra Vista could look at applying them on a larger scale.
