WMG Santa Barbara Introduction to Water Harvesting
Interested in exploring the potentials for water harvesting on your property or as an addition to your professional services or community programming? During this free workshop you will learn the fundamentals of water harvesting, including techniques to mitigate stormwater runoff issues and decrease the need for using drinking quality municipal water for outdoor irrigation needs. Techniques discussed will include rain gardens and other water harvesting landscape features, rain tanks, and simple greywater to landscape systems. Basic calculations will be covered for determining how much water you can potentially harvest and how to appropriately size your system to meet site goals. We will also walk through all the requirements to apply for a subsidy through the Santa Barbara Water Harvesting Program.
Attendance of the entire workshop is one way to meet the qualifications required to apply for a project subsidy.
