For Teachers & Schools

Imagine your school campus as a living lab for your students and a green hub for the community

Schoolyard

Energize students by creating outdoor classrooms that harvest rainwater and greywater, grow a shady oasis, produce food, and provide habitat for birds, bees, butterflies, lizards, and more!

Schoolyard Projects

We partner with schools on designing and constructing rain gardens through hands-on education. We teach students through hands-on activities and using outdoor learning laboratories. One of the central goals is to create and enhance outdoor classrooms on school campuses. If you are interested in partnering with us, contact us to discuss project opportunities.

Consulting Services

Discounted consultation services provided to K-12 schools to assist in planning and implementing outdoor classrooms, water-harvesting strategies, and native and edible gardens. We may be able to assit with finding or applying for grant funding.

Training for Teachers and Maintenance Staff

Build the long-term capacity of your teachers and maintenance staff through WMG training. We offer sessions in 2-hour, half-day, or full-day formats. Scholarships may be available for teachers to complete existing WMG offerings—such as our six-day Water Harvesting Certification course.

Curriculum

Visit our Living Lab and Learning Center (LLLC)—or we can bring these programs to you! We partner with your school to present water and wildlife habitat education covering one or more of these topics: climate resilience, cisterns and irrigation, greywater systems, rain garden landscapes, passive solar, flooding and erosion control, edible and native gardens, streetside stormwater harvesting, soil building & composting, composting toilets, heat and micro-climates.
