Underrepresented identities in the environmental fields are encouraged to apply, including Black, Indigenous, People of Color, Latinx, LGBTQ+, and people with disabilities.
WMG is thrilled to announce a new apprenticeship program, starting with five different apprenticeship positions this summer. Apprenticeships are part-time positions with WMG, lasting 4.5 - 9 months in length, and open to all adults interested in applying. Whether you are wanting to start a new career path, wanting to learn new skills, or are just starting out, an apprenticeship may be a good fit for you. If this is a field you feel you can make a commitment to, we encourage you to apply.
We are currently accepting applications for five positions:
- Restoration Ecology Apprentice
- Sustainable Built Environments Apprentice
- Environmental Education Apprentice
The apprentices are mentored by Directors at WMG and will join WMG as part-time staff during the duration of their apprenticeship, working closely with the staff, docents, and interns. All apprentices will be invited to participate in weekly onboarding training Friday afternoon with other apprentices, interns, and docents.
Donor funding for this program is intended to open up jobs in the environmental and community conservation field for underrepresented individuals, and we encourage Black, Indigenous, People of Color, Latinx, LGBTQ+, and people with disabilities to apply.
Applications are accepted on a rolling basis, until July 31st. Interviews will be scheduled early August and the positions will begin mid to late August.
Application information is included at the end of each position description. We request candidates apply only to one position, to reduce duplication of efforts by our staff. If you are interested in more than one position, please apply to your top choice and then indicate in your cover letter what other positions you’re interested in.
