We need your help to strengthen Tucson's Large Quantity Water User Ordinance, a policy that was quickly developed last summer in response to the Project Blue data center. Mayor and Council are considering revisions at this time, so your input is timely and actionable. Watershed Management Group has developed a robust set of revisions to ensure any new large water user does not deplete our groundwater or dry up our rivers.
Ward 6 City Councilmember Schubert will provide opening remarks at this session. Watershed staff will provide context behind the ordinance, why revisions are critical as we face local drought and Colorado River cuts, and have time for discussion and answering questions. Additionally, we will walk through how you can take action on this topic prior to the September 22nd Mayor and Council public hearing and ensure Tucson is shifting towards being a hydro-local community.
