Founded in Tucson in 2023, The Rain Store opened its doors at 3248 E. Grant Road with a simple but powerful idea: “Rain is free, use it.” As water resources become increasingly scarce in the Southwest, the store was created to offer the Tucson community a locally accessible way to address global water challenges.
From its start, The Rain Store has served as Tucson’s hub for rainwater harvesting — supporting everyone from do-it-yourself homeowners to seasoned professionals. It offers not only supplies (like tanks, rain chains, gravity-fed irrigation systems, composting toilets, and native seeds) but also free consultations to help residents design systems tailored to their roofs, landscapes, and conservation goals.
At its heart, the mission of The Rain Store is to help build a more resilient city by reducing demand on municipal water systems and reclaiming rain as a valuable resource. In doing so, it aligns itself with Tucson’s broader water-conservation efforts — including city rebate programs that encourage rainwater and greywater harvesting.
