The Living Lab and Learning Center is a dynamic community space where people come together to celebrate, learn, and connect — all while experiencing what it means to live hydrolocal. From rain gardens and native edible plants to rainwater on tap and composting toilets, the Living Lab is a fully immersive sustainable venue in midtown Tucson, easily accessible by bus and bike.

Our south-facing wall of window can be opened to offer a protected space while still bringing the fresh air and sounds of outdoors into your event. Tucson-area river photographs and natural clay walls offer a serene and natural aesthetic.

We welcome school groups, summer camps, and youth organizations to learn and explore in a living example of sustainable desert living. Interactive tours and hands-on learning are available to align with your educational goals.

  • Limited parking: 6 spaces onsite, street parking limited to 10-15 cars
  • Most guests should commit to arriving by bike, bus, or rideshare

Transportation and Parking

The Living Lab is located at 1137 N Dodge Blvd, just north of Speedway.

  • By Bike: We encourage biking! Dodge Blvd is a designated bike route. We provide ample secure bike parking and a bike repair station on campus.
  • By Bus: The #4 Speedway route stops directly by our location, and the #11 Alvernon route is within a 1/4 mile. For route planning, please visit the SunTran website.
  • By Car: Parking is limited. Our primary parking lot is at the south edge of the campus, accessible via an alley from Dodge Blvd. If parking on E Bellevue (the neighborhood street to our north), please avoid blocking our neighbors' driveways.
