Restoration Ecology Coordinator
Nadira Mitchell (she/her) is a member of the Navajo Nation (Diné) and was born and raised in Tucson, Arizona. Nadira graduated with honors from the University of Arizona in May 2024 with a Bachelor of Science in Natural Resources with an emphasis in Wildlife Conservation and Management, and a minor in American Indian Studies. Within the River Run Network, Nadira assists with restoration projects and coordinates the Annual Bi-national Beaver Survey on the San Pedro River, as well as the Arizona Beaver Working Group. Her catchphrase is "Be the Beaver!" Within WMG's Living Lab, Nadira coordinates the Sustainable Desert Living Series classes. Nadira is also the assistant for the Santa Cruz Watershed Collaborative (SCWC). In her professional journey, she intends to center Indigenous knowledge, strengthen relationships to land and our responsibility to future generations.
