Registration is closed for this event
We look forward to seeing you at this River Run Network Restoration Workshop! This event will be outside and you will be walking and working in sandy, rocky, and possibly wet soils and navigating through riparian environments. Please wear appropriate shoes and clothing for hiking and working outdoors: - Close-toed shoes - Long pants - Long sleeved shirt - Hat, sunscreen and sunglasses - Work gloves if you like (we will also provide these for you) - Snacks if you want them - Bring the amount of water you think you’ll need for a 4 hour work day. Please plan to arrive 15 minutes early to check in. Please be aware that bathroom facilities are not available as we are working in a remote location. If you are unable to attend an event for any reason, please respond to this email to cancel your registration to allow for others on the waitlist to attend.

Gain hands-on experience at this arroyo restoration workshop by helping enhance floodplain habitat in order to slow flows, retain sediment, and enhance infiltration to benefit the downstream Babocomari River shallow groundwater riparian ecosystem. You will learn approaches to slowing, spreading, and infiltrating water within arroyo corridors and how these efforts can actually improve water quality and water infiltration to benefit the overall riparian health of the area. You can expect to learn how to build grade control structures including filter dams, one rock dams (ORDs), and how to promote native vegetation recruitment within these treatment areas utilizing brush mulching, geotextile matting, and native seeding strategies.
