Guy Tobin Memorial Anza Trailhead, Rio Rico

Implemented large-scale passive water harvesting and erosion control features to support native plants and enhance this public park and trailhead.  

Features:

  • Media luna flow concentrator, zuni bowl, and rock-lined apron erosion control features
  • Berm and basin networks supporting native plants along roadway, paths, and picnic area

Partners:

  • Friends of Santa Cruz River (FOSCR) - collaborated on project development, volunteer recruitment and workshop oversight
  • Border Environmental Conservation Commission and US EPA - funded project through Border 2012 grant funds
