SB Co-op Water Wise Victorian Garden Workshop, Sat. Oct 6, 2012
These second time Co-op workshop hosts are enjoying the laundry to landscape system we installed this summer and are ready for a Co-op workshop doing water harvesting earthworks and planting natives, edibles, and more. A section of the front lawn has been removed and we will put in earthworks to harvest water from parts of the roof, back yard and driveway.
A formal Victorian garden is not what one usually thinks of when imagining integrating water harvesting and drought tolerant plants into a landscape, but that's what was called for at this residence built in the Victorian era. Find out what plants fit into both concepts, and help make it happen.
The workshop will take place on Saturday, October 6, 2012, from 8:30am- 1:30pm at a residence on Santa Barbara's Westside, near Gillespie and Valerio. Exact address will be emailed to participants a day or two before the workshop takes place.
Please come prepared to work and play hard; bring work gloves, a sun hat, sunscreen, and dress in long comfortable pants that can get dirty. All participants are required to wear closed toe shoes.
There is a limit of ten participants for this workshop. Sign up soon since the workshop is this coming weekend!
