Become a Watershed Docent

Lead, Educate, Inspire!

Are you passionate about water conservation and sustainable living? Do you enjoy sharing knowledge and inspiring others to take action? If so, we invite you to join our Docent Volunteer Program!

What is a Volunteer Docent?

Docents are WMG's volunteer ambassadors, both out in the community and at our Living Lab & Learning Center. They play a crucial role in supporting our mission to develop community-based solutions that ensure the long-term prosperity of people and the health of the environment. We are committed to fostering an inclusive and welcoming environment for all community members, including Black, Indigenous, People of Color, and Latinx communities.

As a Watershed Docent, you will:

  • Lead tours and workshops at our Living Lab and Learning Center.
  • Educate the community on the importance of water conservation and sustainable practices.
  • Inspire others to make positive changes in their lives and communities.
  • Support diversity, equity, and inclusion for all in all our activities and outreach efforts.

Do you speak Spanish? ¿Habla español?

We are always seeking bilingual English and Spanish speakers to help expand our educational offerings and support our Spanish-speaking community. Your language skills can make a significant difference in broadening our outreach and making our programs more accessible.

¡Necesitamos personas bilingües que hablen inglés y español! Siempre estamos buscando ampliar nuestra oferta de educación y tú nos puedes ayudar con eso al apoyarnos en la comunicación e involucración en español.

Benefits of Becoming a Docent:

  • Gain in-depth knowledge about local water issues and sustainable solutions.
  • Develop public speaking and leadership skills.
  • Be part of a passionate and supportive community dedicated to making a difference.
  • Contribute to fostering an inclusive and diverse community.
