Part 1: An Overview of Simple, Sensible, and Sustainable Systems for Your Site

Date: Friday, February 3rd from 3-5pm

Location: Santa Cruz County Board Of Supervisors Meeting Room, 2150 N Congress Dr., Nogales, AZ 85621

Developed for residents who are new to water harvesting, interested professionals, and individuals with a few water harvesting workshops or trainings under their belts, this presentation will cover the basic principles of rainwater and greywater harvesting, highlight various types of systems (with an emphasis on simple and affordable ones), and will show attendees how to get started harvesting water at their site.  WMG staff members Joe Silins and Catlow Shipek will provide this overview, and light refreshments will be provided.  Attendees should pre-register for this event by following the links on this page.

The Tucson-based nonprofit Watershed Management Group (WMG) is excited to offer a free, two-part training opportunity this February to take your water harvesting skills to the next level.  Going beyond the work we've been doing with our Santa Cruz County community partners at the Guy Tobin Memorial Anza Trailhead to create a public water harvesting demonstration site and to train residents in basic rainwater harvesting practices, this training will first give participants an in-depth look at rainwater and greywater harvesting principles and practices and how to get started harvesting water at their own home.  This free training is made possible by a grant from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency to help spread water harvesting practices throughout the border region.  Attendance is limited, so register today!
