Join WMG's River Restoration Biologist Trevor Hare and Project Designer Nichole Casebeer at our very first floodplain restoration site along the Santa Cruz River. This site receives large amounts of urban-enhanced runoff from the adjacent housing development and has grown into a jungle of native plants. We will walk around and look at the large-scale rainwater water harvesting basins and native restoration plants. As part of the creek walk, everyone will help clean-up the site, helping pull invasive plants and pick up trash. We'll finish by walking down the the Santa Cruz River and discuss our vision for the future of Tucson's river. Snacks and drinks provided.
This is an exclusive event for River Run Network members. If you are not yet a member, you can join here or when you sign up for this event, we will add you to the Network! At these events, you'll learn more about how you can take action at home and in your watershed to recharge groundwater and restore our heritage of flowing creeks and rivers.
