River Cleanup: Rillito & First Ave

Event Date:
Saturday, March 9, 2019 - 8:00am to 12:00pm
Event Address:
Rillito River & First Ave

Being in the river restoration business means you have to get down and dirty - and we will be doing exactly that! Help us remove the non-native and invasive Polar-Pop cups from the Rillito's riverbed. This cleanup is sponsored by our partner American Rivers and the Pima County Regional Flood Control District. This event will be both fun and educational as we learn a bit about river ecology and how to prevent trash from entering our beautiful rivers.

The cleanup is lead by WMG's River Restoration Biologist Trevor Hare and Pima County Hydrologist Marissa Rice. We’d like to see a big showing of River Run Network members for this cleanup – there’s a lot of cleaning up to do!

This is an exclusive event for River Run Network members. If you are not yet a member, you can join here or when you sign up for this event, we will add you to the Network! At these events, you'll learn more about how you can take action at home and in your watershed to recharge groundwater and restore our heritage of flowing creeks and rivers.
