Community Workshop: Capturing the West Side's Water Story

Registration is closed for this event

Join WMG's Trevor Hare, Restoration Director, and Luis Salgado, Green Infrastructure Coordinator, on Tucson's west side to install a passive system (no curb cuts!) to harvest water off of a road and into a favorite community walking space. We will be upgrading the walking trail, installing rock grade control structures, planting dozens of drought-tolerant plants, and cleaning up the excavated basins and berms. This unique project plans to use street stormwater flows through the capture of the splashing of passing cars and a bit of fancy grading at the top to capture stormwater flows before the curb starts. This will be a physically distanced, mask-on event. This event is limited to 10 people.
