River Run Network Creek Walk: Santa Cruz River Flows

Registration is closed for this event

Cool off with us this July along the Santa Cruz River! WMG’s community scientists — our Flow365 Monitors — volunteer year-round to collect data on different creeks and rivers in Tucson, and they have found another beautiful flowing area on the northwest side of our city. Come explore this stretch of the Santa Cruz with Lauren Monheim, WMG’s River Run Network Program Manager, and Nancy Grosvenor, the resident Flow365 Monitor in this area, to learn about the Flow365 Monitoring Program and history of the flow in the area next to a beautiful flowing creek. We’ll also walk you through a stretch of flow! It will be a bit rocky to reach and could be ankle to thigh deep, so be prepared to walk over unstable ground, get your feet wet and enjoy this beautiful hidden gem in our desert.

This event is organized through WMG’s River Run Network. RRN membership is free and gives you access to a variety of virtual, dispersed, and physically distanced events including creek walks, restoration activities, river clean-ups, and educational workshops. If you are not yet a member, we will add you to the Network when you register for this event
