 anque Verde Creek—and many creeks across our regio
 n: invasive species. WMG is working to remove Arun
 do donax (giant reed) from sections of the creek. 
 Arundo poses a serious threat to desert waterways 
 by consuming three to four times more water than n
 ative plants\, crowding out important habitat\, an
 d increasing the risk of flooding and wildfire. Re
 moving it helps restore groundwater levels\, impro
 ve surface flows\, and support a healthier creek e
