Watershed Management Group invites you to a celebration of the beautiful desert oasis of Tanque Verde Creek.
Join WMG and friends for an evening of locally-catered food, drinks, and educational hikes on Saturday, May 6, from 5:30 - 9:00 p.m at Isabella Lee Natural Preserve.
Like many creeks and rivers in the Tucson region, this sensitive riparian area once flowed for most of the year. But due to heavy pumping of groundwater, today Tanque Verde Creek only flows after major storms. During this fun and enlightening event, we will explore our connections to flowing desert creeks and discover ways to help restore them.
What to bring:
- Comfortable walking shoes and layers to stay warm
- Headlamp or flashlight
- Camping chair or blanket to sit on
