Registration is closed for this event
Brad Lancaster, Senior Watershed Specialist with WMG and author of Rainwater Harvesting for Drylands and Beyond will lead this hands on technical training covering advanced greywater systems.

April 25 - April 27, 2012, Tucson, Arizona.

WMG's Technical Training in Expanded Greywater Systems is a 3 day, hands-on training course with a focus on gravity-fed kitchen sink, Laundry-to-Landscape (L2L) and collection-and-pump greywater systems, along with integrated design, policy, and plumbing best practices.

It is designed to build on the knowledge of greywater systems gained through WMG's Water Harvesting Certification. WMG's Water Harvesting Certification is recommended as a pre-requisite for this course; equivalent professional, academic, or other training experience will be considered as a pre-requisite on a case-by-case basis.

WMG's goal is to transfer this advanced technical knowledge to individuals who will implement these practices in their work and teach others. In particular this course is relevant to landscape architects, architects, permaculture designers, plumbers, developers, other professionals in the building trades.

The Technical Training in Expanded Greywater Systems will be taught through classroom lectures, site assessment, design charette, planning sessions, hands-on implementation, and a tour of local sites.

The course will cover:

Greywater policies and ordinances

Dark greywater & blackwater benefits and concerns

Greywater collection and pump systems

New construction home design for greywater use

Kitchen resource drain installation

Laundry to Landscape (L2L) system

Site assessment and design

Snacks, water, and lunch are included in the course fee.
