Tucson, AZ: The City of Tucson Mayor and Council has approved new ordinances concerning graywater and rainwater. These ordinances are the first in the nation and indicate the committment the City of Tucson is taking towards increased water conservation in the water scarce Southwest.
The graywater ordinance passed September 23, 2008 mandates graywater stubouts in all new residential construction beginning in June 2010.
Commerical Rainwater Ordinance
The commercial rainwater harvesting ordinance which passed October 14, 2008 mandates all new commercial landscaping after June 2010 meet 50% of its landscape water demand through rainwater harvesting.
