WMG India

Two of Watershed Management Group’s co-founders moved to India in 2008 to bring WMG’s successful brand of hands-on training to new communities. While India’s growth remains one of the last century’s biggest success stories, rural parts of the country still struggle with issues of health, water, and sanitation. Here, watershed management and water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH) projects can help people pull themselves out of poverty.

WMG is partnered with Grampari, a local organization working on livelihood promotion and strengthening local governance in Satara District, Maharashtra. WMG staff run health and environment programs that include spring protection and drinking water systems, school hygiene promotion, latrine construction, watershed management, and rainwater harvesting.

Our work in India has had positive impacts for thousands of people with demand growing by the day.
