Registration is closed for this event
Watershed Management Group's Co-op and Soil Stewards programs are hosting a local foods potluck and hands on presentation by Mitchell Pavao-Zuckerman, PhD.

Come and join Watershed Management Group for an enlightening celebration of community, food, water and soil.

We will start the evening with our local foods potluck from 6:00 pm - 6:30pm. Bring your favorite dish that includes locally grown produce to share with your WMG friends. We will also supply some snacks and beverages via Iskashitaa refugee network

At 6:30 pm, while you finish your food Dr. Mitchell Pavao-Zuckerman (of the University of Arizona's Biosphere 2) will talk about the soil food web,  its importance for food production, plant growth, and soil water storage and how it can be enhanced in the arid urban environment.

Then at 7:15 pm Dr. Pavao-Zuckerman will lead hands-on activities and a question and answer session.

To celebrate the end of the busiest season for the Co-op there will be a free raffle.

This event is free and open to the public - bring friends. Children are welcome. Please register in advance.

The Soil Stewards program is made possible by a grant Watershed Management Group received from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency to address environmental issues related to healthy soils including food security, waste reduction, and water conservation. Funding for the Watershed Management Group Green living Co-op local Foods potluck comes from Food Conspiracy Co-op's Community Fund award.
